Skirting

This week, Jen helped me install the skirting around the railroad. The skirting is basic landscape fabric cut to length so that it doesn’t touch the floor and stapled to 1” square wood stock. I used the same material on the old CWI and it worked quite well. The skirting is complete in Illinois and Indiana.

As you can also see, I painted the bare OSB green to help the railroad look a little better. If I had been smart, I would’ve painted the OSB BEFORE I put the track down!

Buildings, grass, trees, roads, etc. will come after the operating scheme is fleshed out and working well. The painting in Illinois is done, I’ll try to get to Indiana this week.

Next on the agenda, I’ll be skinning the bare wood with painted tempered hardboard to match the upper valance.

Stay tuned.
