We have power!

I built a box to hold all the DCC components needed for the Railroad. The Command Station Station (CSS) will be located under the Railroad.

The DB200+ booster on the right probably won’t be used. I mounted it just in case.

I broke out a loco and tested it on a piece of flex track and after replacing a bad Loconet cable, it ran like a champ. Not bad considering some of the equipment will be 25 years old next year!

From left to right, Digitrax UR91 radio receiver, Locobuffer USB interface for the laptop, PSX 4 district power manager and Soundtrax PTB100 programming track booster. In the upper left corner is a Loconet throttle panel.

The next step will be getting the CSS under the Railroad and hooking it up to the track I’ve been laying. That’s right…I’ve got some track work done!!

More details in the next post.

  1. You are just chugging along. I trust that hanging the CSS won’t be difficult. I think some of the rolling stock is from the 70’s though.

    1. Once the actual track wiring is done, I’ll figure out a good spot for the CSS. Probably put it on some drawer slides for access to the rear of it.
The rolling stock is now all late 80’s and later…mostly. I swapmeeted all the older stuff some time ago.
