The last piece of the north bedroom valance fascia was installed yesterday as were the remaining LED strip lights. I am very happy with the results. I had intended to paint the fascia black but I found that the previous owners of the house left a full gallon of a graphite color satin paint. This paint isn’t used anywhere else in the house. It’s a little shiny for me but I can’t beat the price.
As you can see in the photos, I painted the valance brackets white. They now are more acceptable to me. I brush painted them because I didn’t want to get spray paint overspray on the new floor.
The benchwork you see is all attached to the walls. Because of the window molding, I had to put a 1/2” spacer against the wall on the west and north walls. The gap will be covered by building flats or scenery.
Tomorrow, I start on the east wall benchwork. This is where the closet is and will be a little tricky. A large industry of some kind will be in the closet.

Hey Tom. After the closet is done, I’ll be adding triangular pieces to the 90 degree corners that you see in the photos. I have to determine how big the triangles will be based on average arm reach. The triangles will help with curves around the corners.
Then the tunneling begins.
The closet is very deep. I won’t be going all the way back with track due to unreachability. Large building flats will make up a ‘wall’ about 36″ from the front of the benchwork. Stay tuned!
