Here are some shots using only the LED strip lights for lighting. I have less than 1/2 of the total strips done so far but the illumination is terrific. I’m quite happy.

I like the LED strips. Night operations will go much smoother. The valances look great.

Thanks Tim. The pix were meant to show how the railroad will be lit all the time. The room ceiling fan light isn’t nearly bright enough and would be behind the operator. The LED strips are really nice, low profile and inexpensive.
I’ll be working on the valance after Thursday when more OSB is delivered from the Depot. I need a truck!!

Home Depot does rent trucks. We’ve looked into the cost, time and the logistics of renting and the end result is that delivery is the better option.

These strip lights are the latest rage. I have installed a few under cabinet kitchen light sets for several people. I do not like the corners roll and I have to see a brand that does.
By chance, have you considered the multi-color or the unlimited color version? slightly more expensive but the ability to change the color seems to enhance the overall look.

Hi Terry. These same style of lights are in our kitchen. I saw them used on 2 layouts I visited near Indy. I looked at the multi-color and they were OK. I just need a lot of light so I and others can read the rolling stock numbers and switch list sheets. I’m not going to be doing any night sessions like some guys do.
