Yesterday, I fired up the railroad for the first time since March! After vacuuming the track, wiping off the rails with kerosene and charging up the cell phone throttles, I flipped the railroad’s power strip on and there were no issues. Seeing as the Digitrax command station is now 26 years old, I was pleased it still worked. Jen and I switched cars from 2 switchlists I had printed way back in March. It was a fun 2 hours.
All ran relatively well. The switchers we used hesitated at a few locations. I hadn’t cleaned their wheels. I am going to look into adding keep alive capacitors to the loco decoders to help keep them moving over the few problem areas.
Let’s hope this small step pushes me to make some progress!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
