A couple of months ago, I purchased a Digitrax LNWI. This device is used to easily connect WIFI throttles (like old cell phones) to the Railroad.
Previously, I would have to connect my laptop to the Loconet, power on the Railroad, start the JMRI software, wait for it to connect to the command station and then be able to use a phone throttle to run the locos.
Now, I just power on the Railroad and the phone connects in seconds. Very handy!
The LNWI won’t help me when I need to program loco decoders. I’ll need to connect the laptop for that.
The LNWI has the ability to handle up to 4 WIFI throttles at once which is more than enough for my little enterprise. If more throttles are needed, additional LNWIs can be added to the Loconet. Up to 4 LNWIs can be used at once.
In the few weeks I’ve used it, the LNWI has worked well with no issues.
