The Lakota Switchback Issue

On the Indiana Sub the town of Cullen is accessed via a switchback at Lakota. When planning the Railroad, I thought it would be challenging. It turned out to be annoying. Today I fixed the issue.

As seen below, Cullen is accessed from the mainline by pulling into the spur at Rockwell then backing into Cullen.

The short spur can hold no more than 4 cars. This limits the train length in and out of Cullen.

To fix this, I reconfigured the track so that Cullen is now accessed directly off the mainline.

I still have to solder in feeders, fasten the track down and paint the track.

Then I’ll use CadRail and redraw the line drawing.
